January '21 has continued to be as busy as the end of 2020, with many buyers looking to purchase before the 31st March 2021 Stamp Duty Deadline to save upto £15,000.
There is much speculation over whether the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak will extend the deadline to allow those sales already agreed to complete at leisure, rather than causing unnecessary anxiety to buyers and sellers as the deadline nears. This would also help the conveyancing and banking system if tens of thousands of property sales all try to complete on the same day, causing absolute mayhem.
A petition with over a 110,000 signatures on it has now been refered to Parliment for debate.
